{"id":6916,"date":"2025-08-01T09:00:46","date_gmt":"2025-08-01T00:00:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.s-trail.net\/english\/?p=6916"},"modified":"2025-08-29T19:21:00","modified_gmt":"2025-08-29T10:21:00","slug":"water-toilet-receptioin","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.s-trail.net\/english\/water-toilet-receptioin\/","title":{"rendered":"FYI: Water\/Toilet\/Reception along the Trail"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-background has-medium-font-size\" style=\"background-color:#fff0f5\"><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">CAUTION!<\/span><\/strong><br>The Shin-etsu Trail has limited water and toilet facilities available.      <br>When planning your hike, please check <a href=\"https:\/\/www.s-trail.net\/cms\/wp-content\/themes\/s-trail-n\/pdf\/mizubatoile.pdf\">here<\/a> for the specific location of each water station\/restroom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2><br>\u25a0 Drinking Water\/Water Source  <\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><br>Please prepare sufficient drinking water according to the time and distance of your hike, as well as your physical fitness and the season and weather conditions in which you will be hiking.<br>If the water is freshwater drawn from a spring or running water in the satoyama, <strong>you will need to purify it before drinking<\/strong>. Also, <strong>the water may dry up during the summer.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2><br>\u25a0 Toilet Facilities<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><br><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Be sure to use the restroom before you start hiking the trail.<\/span><\/strong><br>If you have no choice but to defecate while hiking, do so well away from trails and water sources (freshwater, etc.) and be aware of the vegetation around you. <strong>Be sure to take your paper and trash home with you.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>A simple toilet for Shin-etsu Trail hikers is located near \u2467-5 in Nakako Village, Section 8.
