Leave No Traceとは？
What is Leave No Trace?

Leave No Trace（以下LNT）とは、アウトドアを楽しむすべての人に環境保全を意識して行動してもらえるよう7つの原則に基づいて啓発活動を行っています。
1980年代に北米でこの考え方が生まれ、現在ではアメリカのアパラチアントレイルや国立公園・林野局といったアウトドアフィールドをはじめ、公的機関や大学、野外教育団体、環境教育団体など、多くの国々で広く活用されています。

Leave no trace (LNT) is a set of 7 outdoor ethic principles, which works to encourage people to be conscious of and protect the environment when participating in outdoor activities.
This concept started in 1980 in North America, and not only has it been adopted by the Appalachian National Science Trail, US Park Service and Forest Service, but also by public institutions, universities, and environmental education groups around the world.

信越トレイルクラブは周辺エリアの貴重な環境資源が未来に永続できるよう、設立当初より独自のガイドラインとトレッキングルールを設け活動を行ってきました。今後もこのガイドラインを根底に、LNTという世界基準の環境保全活動の考え方を知っていただくことで、国内外からお越し頂くハイカーに信越トレイルの適切な利用と保全に対して理解を深めていただければと思います。

Trekking Rules and guidelines created when the Shin-etsu Trail Club was founded have helped us work to ensure the valuable environmental resources surrounding the Shin-etsu trail can continue into the future. In addition to these rules and guidelines we wish to help all our visitors deepen their understanding of how to use and protect the Shin-etsu Trail by adopting the concept of LNT, a world standard for environment protection.

※LNTの7原則はすべての野外活動について規範となる考え方です。信越トレイルに当てはまらない部分もありますのでご承知おきください。

Please understand that while the 7 Principles of LNT is a standard for all outdoor activities, some sections do not apply for the Shin-etsu Trail.

Principle 1 / 原則 1
Plan Ahead and Prepare / 事前の計画と準備

Know the regulations and special concerns for the area you’ll visit.
行く場所のルールや注意することを知ろう

Prepare for extreme weather, hazards, and emergencies.
悪天候や緊急時に備えよう

Schedule your trip to avoid times of high use
ピークシーズンを避けよう

Visit in small groups when possible.
できるかぎり少人数で活動しよう

Repackage food to minimize waste.
できる限りゴミが少なくなるようにパッキングしよう

Use a map and compass to eliminate the use of marking paint, rock cairns or flagging.
標識に頼らずに地図とコンパスを使おう

Principle 2 / 原則 2
Travel and Camp on Durable Surfaces / 影響の少ない場所での活動

Durable surfaces include established trails and campsites, rock, gravel, dry grasses or snow.
影響の少ない登山道、指定のテントサイト、乾いた場所の上で活動しよう

Concentrate use on existing trails and campsites.
指定の登山道やテントサイトを利用しよう

Walk single file in the middle of the trail, even when wet or muddy.
登山道がドロドロでも真ん中を歩こう

Keep campsites small.
キャンプサイトを最小限に利用しよう

Avoid places where impacts are just beginning.
自然への負荷がかかり始めている場所は避けよう

Principle 3 / 原則 3
Dispose of Waste Properly / ゴミの適切な処理

Pack it in, pack it out. Inspect your campsite and rest areas for trash or spilled foods.
Pack out all trash, leftover food, and litter.
すべてのゴミや食べ残しを持ち帰ろう

Cover and disguise the cathole when finished.
トイレは20cm程度穴を掘って行い、終わったらしっかり埋めよう

Principle 4 / 原則 4
Leave What You Find / 見たものはそのままに

Preserve the past: examine, but do not touch, cultural or historic structures and artifacts.
文化的、歴史的遺跡は触れずに見るだけにしよう

Leave rocks, plants and other natural objects as you find them.
石、植物等すべての自然物は持ち帰らないようにしよう

Avoid introducing or transporting non-native species.
外から生物を持ち込まないようにしよう

Do not build structures, furniture, or dig trenches.
木を折ったり穴を掘ったりしないようにしよう

Principle 5 / 原則 5
Minimize Campfire Impacts / 焚き火の影響を最小化

NOTE:Campfires are completely prohibited on the Shin-etsu Trail!!
When making a campfire in a field other than the Shin-etsu Trail,we want you to practice this principle 5

信越トレイル以外のフィールドにおいて焚き火を行う場合に、
この原則５を実践していただきたくここに掲載しています

Use a lightweight stove for cooking and enjoy a candle lantern for light.
できる限りストーブを使うようにしよう

Where fires are permitted, use established fire rings, fire pans, or mound fires.
地表にダメージを与えずにたき火をしよう

Keep fires small.
たき火の大きさは必要最小限にしよう

Only use sticks from the ground that can be broken by hand.
落ちている枝だけを使おう

Burn all wood and coals to ash, putout campfires completely, then scatter cool ashes.
すべての枝を灰になるまで燃やそう。灰は完全に消火してからバラまこう

Respect Wildlife / 野生動物の尊重

Observe wildlife from a distance. Do not follow or approach them.
野生動物は遠くから観察しよう

Never feed animals.
野生動物にえさはあげないようにしよう

Protect wildlife and your food by storing rations and trash securely.
食べ物に野生動物が近づかないようにしよう

Avoid wildlife during sensitive times: mating, nesting, raising young, or winter.
子育てや巣作りなどをしている野生動物には近づかないようにしよう

Be Considerate of Other Visitors / 他のビジターへの配慮

Respect other visitors and protect the quality of their experience.

Be courteous. Yield to other users on the trail.

Take breaks and camp away from trails and other visitors.
休憩は登山道から離れてとろう
